If you answered YES to this question then the web site that linked to my web site is stealing money from me. What is bandwidth theft? Bandwidth theft is when a web site programmer links a page, picture, downloadable file or document on someone else's web site to his web site. This is a conscious effort on the part of the programmer and anyone that pays for their web site bandwidth and has any brains at all understands this. Disk space and bandwidth are the first two things I looked at when pricing out hosting providers. Why is bandwidth theft bad? When a person, organization or company starts a web site they are charged by how many pages, pictures and downloads people view on their web site each month. If a person links a picture from my web site to theirs then I am charged each time you see MY picture on THEIR web site. This would be similar to your cell phone plan. You buy 1000 minutes (bandwidth) for $40.00 per month. Someone else knows you leave you phone on your desk at work and when you are not looking they use your phone to make calls. They are stealing money from you because they are using your minutes (bandwidth).
