If this is a Halloween site why don't you have lots of great animated GIFS and sound effects?

Updated 3-11-2007

With the cost of high speed internet dropping below the $20.00 per month price point in many areas we have decided to base all page loads off of a download speed of 512kbps.  This means that very few of our pages will take more than a few seconds to load.

Halloween Pictures and the Animated GIF downloads being the areas of this web site that will take the longest to view.

How much do you spend on all this great stuff?

My wife and I began 6 years ago with a great deal of the battery operated props you pick up at local retail stores.  The last 4 years I have begun to get serious and can easily say that I spend between $2,500.00 and $3,500.00 each year on new props.  Each year we also spend between $350.00 and $450.00 repairing props that I had built in previous years.  Storage has also become an issue, we will soon need to start renting space which will run about $1,400.00 per year.  We are hoping the people that enjoy our little haunt will donate enough to cover the cost of storage, and with a little luck, a few of the large double or triple thick boxes.

Where do you store all your Halloween props and decorations?

We currently store all of our props at the house.  If we continue to grow we will need to rent storage space.  The cost of storage space will be about $1,400.00 per year and we are hoping that everyone that visits will make a generous donation or help us locate a safe inexpensive storage location.

How long does it take to set up and take down the displays?

It usually takes my wife and I about 60 hours to set up the displays.  This is usually done over a period of 2 to 3 weeks.  Tear down takes even longer because it is harder to pack the props up than it is to unpack them .

Where are you located?

We are located at 1603 Crestline Drive, Troy, MI. 48083.  Just North of Big Beaver (16 Mile Road) off the West side of John R. Road.

From John R. Road go West on Crimson to the second intersection (Crestline) and turn Left, we are located on the right hand (North) side of the street.  Just look for the cemetery in the front yard.  Trust me, you will know our house when you see it.

Use Yahoo Maps to get a map of our area.

What is a WMP incident?

WMP is short for "Wet My Pants", we hope these are rare, but we are trying to create a scary haunted house after all.

Why is the text on your web site so large?

This is usually an issue with your web browser.  Most newer browsers have size options.  Most browsers have a View menu, select Text and choose the size option that best fits your monitor.  We recommend a minimum resolution of 1024 by 768.

Why don't all the links work?

Many of the links on our site open a new browser window.  Check and see if you have any type of pop up blocker software that might be able to prevent the windows from opening.  I run a link test every week to make sure the site is up to date.  External links to other sites are beyond my control for the most part.  If you notice that a link to another site is broken for more than a few days please contact us.

What are the age ranges you have had go through your haunted house?

We have had children as young as 4 years old go through our haunted house (If you do not count our son who was 9 months old his first time, he laughed at everything).  We have had kids in their late 60's also come through our haunted house.  For kids that are young we usually turn on the garage and 3 season room lights and let them walk through.  Then they usually make us turn off the lights so they can go through a second time, third time, fourth time, it can be difficult to get them out.
